The Detailed Explanation of the 7 Noahide Laws

The 7 Noahide Laws are the rules that every individual must keep regardless of who you are or where you come from.  It is nearly impossible to live together in peace and harmony with each other without these 7 things. These laws are called Noahide laws because they are believed to have been given in their fullness to Noah after the flood. The Noahide laws are also known as the Noachian laws, the seven laws of Noah or the seven commands for Noah’s sons.

The 7 Noahide Laws 

1.Do not deny god – It states that acknowledge there is a single God.

2.Do not steal – It states all the benefits you receive should not be at the unfair expense of someone else.

3.Do not murder- Do not destroy a single human life, the value of a human life cannot be measured.

4.Do not eat the flesh of a live animal- Respect the life of all the creatures of God.

5.Do not Blaspheme- No matter how angry you are; do not curse your creator.

6.Do not engage in sexual immorality- Rape, adultery, incest and homosexual relationships are forbidden.

7.Establish courts and legal systems to ensure the obedience of these laws – The law courts must be established to restore peace and harmony in the world.

The first six laws were given to Adam in the Garden of Eden according to Jewish Traditions. The sixth law was added when God established his covenant with Noah. According to Judaism, all gentiles are obliged to follow the Noahide laws. If a non-jew who abides by the Noahide laws, he will be considered a ‘righteous Gentile’ and will earn a reward in the afterlife.

These teachings are recorded in the sacred Jewish texts for many centuries. But in the 20th century, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson encouraged Jews to publicize these teachings. These laws are the heritage of humanity from our ancestors. All the humanity is known to be the descendants of Noah, who survived the great flood and all people are called Noahides.
